Night fishing for browns when there is no mega hatch, you want it pitch black. This means fishing from waning half to new moon. A full moon is nearly straight up at midnight and is high at 10:00 P.M.- the bewitching hour when big browns start to prowl for frogs and mice. Wait a week after full and fish in the darkness.

Never seen any other effect on rivers and streams. On salt, fish the beaches on half moons at 6:00 to 8:00 A.M. Moon cycles (i.e. tide cycles) are critical on salt beaches and in the mangroves. Learn to read the moon and you won’t need tide charts anymore.
