I am interested in hearing about some of the strange and exotic foods people have eaten while travelling and fishing.  I have been in Korea about 7 months and when out in the rural areas of the country am pretty much at the mercy of my Korean fishing companions as far as food goes.  During one lunch, I was served cow intestine and while it wasn’t bad enough not to eat, it certainly wasn’t good.  I know they serve interesting foods in Alaska, Europe, and even in the states.  So … what have you eaten.

While I was working in Mexico I had several unidentifiable pieces of meat along with horse brisket which was very tender, some deep fried bovine esophagus, man was it was tough to get down and to finish it all off I have baby goat taco’s, which was really tender and full of flavor.

But working with the Japanese now for several years, 90% of the time I’m unsure of what is in front of me, but I’ll try anything once.

On a Mexico trip we had baracudda at a little beachside hut that we ate out of a community platter.

Lauren and I have pretty wide-ranging tastes; sushi is regularly on the menu for us.

Going with the street vendor odd eats category; The details are a bit fuzzy now, but when I was in Mexico near Toluca I came a crossed a vendor in one of the little mountain towns. He was set-up along side of a small mountain creek and was severing fresh trout, it was almost a you pick operation.
