David AndersonMemberWell, it’s now 24 years since I moved from Champaign Illinois to Sydney and while I’m happy here, I do from time to time get a little home sick. :'(
Can anyone post a picture of a Macaroni & cheese pie and maybe a proper pickup to cheer me up ?www.dsaphoto.com

MemberDavid,
A quick search yielded this fellow, one whom encompasses all you desire, save one: I am afraid the chicks with big hair (8-12 inch bangs held tight w/ a can of hairspray) left shortly after you did. Hope this helps.Jun 10, 2008 at 3:59 pm #26379leonard keeney

MemberNeal, until now I have read everything you’ve posted with zeal, and at times, jealousy. But I beginning to wonder about you, in particular, your culinary preferences.

Kevin, I never put it together as FunGI, LOL, that’s great. Dusty, have you ever tasted a fresh Morel mushroom? Best taste in the world – it’s the midwest equivalent of caviar or black truffle.
David, here are some more pictures of the midwest . . .
I too miss the great plains.
Sunflower capital of the United States – where else can you find “millions” of sunflowers?

South Dakota, the Badlands

Carhenge http://www.carhenge.com/. The greatest place you never thought to visit. In the middle of “nowhere special” Nebraska. The American dream, you build it and they will come.

Mitchell Corn Palace, only in the midwest can you build your kingdom out of corn

And of course, those great little prairie lakes

You know you only have to jump on a plane and visit us in Qld for all the rednecks you can handle 😀Jun 11, 2008 at 1:52 am #26392dusty montgomery
MemberNeal,
I am afraid my palate is not that advanced. I have never had truffles or caviar, unless some roe from a freshly caught Chinook hen counts. I did not care for it; that was one of those things one does just to say that they have I suppose. Should I find myself in your part of the country, maybe we can go on a mushroom hunt.
Cheers,

Until 1998 or so, there was a local towtrucker/grading business around here that still carried a shotgun on a rack in the back of at least one of their towtrucks. I also haven’t seen this for a while.
Here are some other items to cheer you up.
