MemberBoy can I pick trips 😉 I guess I can blame it on the school, seeing how they scheduled spring break to coincide with Monsoon season in Arkansas. We got there Saturday evening,15 Mar. Sunday and Monday were spent fishing Dry Run Creek. To all who recommended this to me; thank you very much!!! My kids: 8, 10 & 12 had a ball!! My son caught two four pounders and several between 12 and 20+ inches. He is so pumped; he is planning our next big trip. My girls caught several fish too and had a complete blast!! Their expectations on what a fishing trip should be like is so high, I’m going to be hard pressed to top it. The weather for Sunday and Monday was perfect and we all had a lot of fun. I had rigged up all of my fly rods and used burgandy and rust zebra midges and san juan worms. As one would snag, tangle or break their leader, I would hand them another rod and start rigging up the mangled one. (To all of the guides out there, you are underpaid and have the patience of a saint) I lost count of how many fish the three caught, but it made the trip a complete success!!
As for the Norfork tail waters, White River and the Little Red, the water was extremely high. When we arrived, I knew wading was out of the question. We were planning on renting a jon boat for Tuesday, but between the rain and the current, good judgment weighed in and we decided to visit flyshops and play games. By Wednesday morning, it had rained for 2 1/2 days. We were woke up by the firemen who suggested that we call it a vacation as our cabin’s lower level would be under water. We quickly packed, paid our bill and headed back to KC.
All in all, we had a blast. We met several great people; survived the monsoon and the kids caught lots of fish.

MemberIt’s bad.. real bad.. 26 counties are disaster areas, houses are floating down the white… floodgates have been open for days trying to balance everything out…
Tailwater trout are pretty much out… time to go bass / striper fishing…. I’ve been tying flys for days and days..

MemberZero Units on below Bull Shoals and the fishing very good
They have been running short bursts in the am last two days

So much water down river, that they don’t want to create more flooding.
Not sure how long it will last a day two days or into next week. Hoping I need to fish LOLBut fishing has been good. The flooding 34-30 miles downstream was incredible.
The Buffalo rose 50′ and was running 137,000 cfs, this was what created the problems on Norfork, which was under a bunch of water.
I also saw figures on the White waaaaay downstream which was running 250,000 cfs. Monster water.Cheers
