I’m looking for photos, plans, drawings for a river boat, not a drifter, looking for something that I can use on my tailwater with a trolling motor.

I’ve always wanted to build a wooden boat, rode in one ofter as a young lad, (before Zach was born). If I go with something that needs a motor, I’ve got to have a jet and a big jon.

Looking for as shallow a ride as I can get.

Scott Branyan also posted a blog of the building process, which was really cool reading.

Hey guys. The blog posts Zach refers to are still up. Go to my new blog
    http://www.flyflinger.com/wpblog

Click on “Scott’s Old Fly-Fishing Blog” link in the blog roll, and go the archives starting in November of 2005 to pick up the thread from the beginning.

David, the square-ender floats higher than any other Mac design since it has a great amount of flat bottom on the square end. I can walk it through a few inches of water and slide it over gravels a short distance. You could use a trolling motor on it but I never have.

Larry Dabblemount in Missouri has also written a book about building wooden jonboats you might check out.

    Hope this helps,
    Scott
