Here is a link to the Redington site.  I was looking at this rod of theirs and as I got to this page I found this photo.

As I first looked at it I thought it was sort of a cool photo.  You’ve got this older gentleman who just screams of spey rods and single malt whiskey.  The grayling dorsal is cool looking and the rod placement for advertising is well done.

Then it struck me…there are three hands in this picture!  Once I realized the awkwardness of this the photo was totally shot.  I know trying to pull off a picture like this is difficult but there has to be a better way of doing it so you can’t see three different hands?

By the way Redington is making some nice rods lately, that goes largely unnoticed.  Some local guides and fly shops have been really impressed with some of these sticks.

I’d say it’s pretty obvious the dude just has a REALLY big right hand.

On the Redington note, I’ve also had excellent experience with their customer service department. That’s more than I can say for at least one of the other big name American Rodmakers.

Sage owns Redington. That in itself does not mean Redington is all good, but from all accounts, they are solid rods.

Fishing with 3 hands would be really nice.

Looks to me like the photographer took your typical trophy shot and then visualised the comp with the dorsal extended. Rather than have the gent change his grip and do it, he just reached out, lifted it and took the shot.
