I should have asked which one is the most “medium action”–sorry!

I would definitely say the Winston WT.

Thanks Jay! I’ll take a look at Scott and see what’s available.-can’t say I’ve cast one ever or at least not in 10 years.

I think the SLT 9′ #4 is one of the best trout rods ever and if it wasn’t for the TCR6 I would say it was the best Sage rod I’ve ever owned or cast.
Winston also make some real sweet sticks in 4 weight, the 8′ WT is a lovely rod as well.

So that’s a tough question – and my answer is now ZXL.

Just got one in 8’6 #3 and it’s a lovely rod, I can’t compare it directly to an SLT #3 because I’ve only got the 2 and 4, but what I can say is it’s VERY smooth and a very sweet rod.
Haven’t fished with it yet because my first trip of the season starts this thursday, so I’ll give everyone a full rundown when I get back.

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.

    I have a 8’3″ 3wt SLT and a Winston 8’6″ 5wt WT. Both very nice rods, but I prefer the Winston (I like a 4wt line on the WT too 🙂 )

I have an the IM6 8’6 Winston (so not WT sorry..but close ::)?) in 5 and the new ZXL in 8’6 5wt also. Different rods but both extremely smoooooth! 🙂
Each day is different but I seem to be taking the Sage fishing more than my “green stick”. 🙂
I’ve also been playing with the 8’6 3wt ZXL. Very nice!!!!
