I believe this might be a good place to reach TN anglers (?).

I am from Oregon and currently visiting my in-laws in Oak Ridge for the holidays.  They live a stone’s throw from Melton Hill Lake (Clinch River).  Are there any fish to be had in the lake at this time of year?  I am a devout spey rod steelheader at home, but always happy to pursue any species on the fly.  I can borrow a 5 wt from my father-in-law (the one that I built for him!) and may have access to a canoe, but would prefer to minimize effort by simply prowling the banks.  Any suggestions appreciated, species, flies, tactics, etc.  Also, if anyone in the area is sitting on a brand new Christmas spey rod and wants a free lesson, let me know.  I will be around until Dec 27 this time around …

Are you interested in the Lake fishing or will you have your waders.

I did not bring waders or any tackle, and was considering lake fishing just for the immediate convenience – something to do.
