I had the pleasure of getting to meet & fish with Scott last Wednesday on the White River down in Arkansas.

Good grief Bret, raise the expectations a little!   ::)

Bret’s just saying that cause he was tickled to row a wood boat while his buddy John was fishing cane.  ;D

Greatly enjoyed fishing with you and John. Thanks for rowing a while so I could enjoy the fishing too.

Scott I hope you weren’t looking for a day off anytime soon because after that post of Brets you could be booked solid for the next ten years! 🙂

Not sure how you feel about it Scott, but a post like that is nicer than any amount of tip a customer could give you! Very cool!

Joel. Absolutely. I guess no Montana trip for me next summer. I’ll be too busy.   🙂

Bret and I struck up a conversation via this board and I was very glad I had a slack day the last minute that week to meet up with him and John. I also got to meet their friends Mark and Nick also from the Southern Rod Gathering. I spent some time showing them all Dry Run Creek at Norfork dam. It was fun watching them light up seeing all the fish in that creek.

[For those that don’t know, Dry Run is a youth catch and release fishing creek which is fed by the hatchery outflow and has oodles of fish and some really big fish. It’s a great place to introduce youth to fly fishing and also just to go and observe. I had spent the morning shooting photos there for a presentation I am working on, and it worked out as an easy meeting place for us.]

We were able to get in a few hours on the White with excellent water conditions. The powerhouse had been generating around the clock with very stable flows while all the wade fishermen were forced over on the Norfork tailwater to vie for space. We had a ball and got to share our love of drift boats, cane rods, and some common background we found out we had.

They tipped me with a fine dinner, but the comments in Bret’s post were totally unexpected, very nice and great icing on a terrific afternoon and evening with friends. Thanks again, Bret.

This board is a great way to meet a bunch of fine folks.

I agree with Joel, a post like that is better than any tip…or at least almost any tip.

Great job Scott…I hope I can come fish with you someday.

Well, I would be lying if I didn’t tell it like it was.
