I just wanted to mention a piece of software that I’ve quickly discovered I cannot live without as far as writing is concerned. It’s called Scrivener, and it’s a project management tool for writers. I have yet to find anything that lets me control all my research, drafts, and images so intuitively. It’s all right there, all the time. Scrivener isn’t meant to be a word processor or page layout program, but it does excel at what it was designed to do: keep you organized so you concentrate on your writing. I cannot stress enough what this piece of software has done for my sanity when it comes to projects with huge amounts of research.
Check it out at http://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener.html
There’s a free trial of the full version which includes a really great tutorial. If you’re a Mac user, write anything from research papers to novels (or magazine articles), Scrivener may be just what you’ve been looking for.

And just to be clear, I have NO association with the creator or company. I just think it’s a really neat tool and thought some of you might too.
