    …on Everest?

Might want to check this out:

Mountain Hardware’s new $3,000 supertent, able to withstand almost anything Nature can throw at it short of a tree.

Is there guarantee against me setting it on fire 😮 🙂

Or like the guy I saw in MO recently who reglected to peg his tent down, and watched it sail into the river _ yeh it floated.

Can you tell I don’t camp LOL
    Cheers

If you’ve ever tried to fall asleep in a tent on the beach in a 20 mph wind $3K begins to not look that bad.

Such a Deal!  The Stronghold holds 10 people.  That’s only $300/person.  The Space Station holds 15, thats only $330/person.  The Mountain Hardware Bunker 1 is $450 but it only holds one person.  I bet the government goes for the $450 tent!

Actually, they will probably go for the $450 tent and just pay $3,000 for it.

Up here in the White Mountains of New Hampshire where the winds regularly get in the 100 mph range in the winter (the record is 231 mph set in 1931 – I think, at the summit of Mount Washington) no matter what tent you have it sounds like a 50 cal machine gun in your ear.

Mountain Hardware is one of the mainstays on Everest and the other high cols due to their durability.

Worth the money if that is your game.

One of my favorite quirky tents is the Mountain Hardware Kiva. It is a single wall, single pole shelter that weighs about three pounds. It isn’t particularly comfortable for the SE anytime other than the colder months (single wall tents don’t “breathe” all that well in humid areas, so they tend to be really stuffy). I bought it to be used as a cook hut/dining hall for backpacking. At just three pounds it is a weight economical luxury (when packing with two or more others) for the convenience of cooking and eating under a shelter during unexpected storms and really cold nights and mornings. It will comfortably sleep three and accommodate four or five for eating and whisky sipping. Black Diamond makes something similar.
