    Fished SE Coastal Maine this past June for 8 days with a variety of folks including my grandfather, my girlfriend, and some friends of my granddad.

    Nate, my wife and I are heading to Maine in early September for a few days, probably Acadia. Did you do any shore fishing? Any recommendations on good places to check out?

    Charlie,

    Acadia’s likely to be pretty spotty for stripers – that’s the far northern end of their range, but there may be a few fish around, and there’s likely to be mackerel in if you can’t find stripers.

    Like Matt said, Acadia is a beautiful area but for the stripers I would recommend heading south down towards Portland.

    Believe it or not, I haven’t yet made it out on Wallace’s boat in the bay yet- it’s tough to catch him with a free day.

    The fresh lobster rolls, strawberry rhubarb pie, blue berry pie, and fresh haddock made the trip that much better.
