Craig and I spent the day on the river today and it was fishing well. I told Craig that morning that it felt like a big fish day and it was.. My second cast landed the first fish in the pics.

A little while later Craig and I both missed some nice swats from some good Browns. As the water was almost bottomed out some fish started busting on something on the surface but I think it was a Sculpin and not Shad.. . I made a cast into the middle of the feeding freenzy and the largest fish in the school inhaled the fly. I’m 99% sure it was a Rainbow and 100% sure if it really was a Rainbow, it was the largest one I’ve ever had on. Just as I set the hook the fish realized what was up and thrashed his head hard right, and snapped my 12# like it was nothing. Craig and I both watched as the monster swam off trying to spit the “barbless fly”. . I don’t know why I had twelve on in the first place but I tied on twenty for the rest of the trip.
Later as the water was rising we picked up another nice Brownie.

And another one just before we called it quits.

Also managed some Rainbows 16 to 18” but only a few this trip.

MemberMike – From your posts, you appear as a head hunter, i.e. anything big on a fly rod.

MemberHey Matt I really haven’t changed anything on the Supreme. I don’t see a need to add anything to it yet. For anyone even toying with the idea of a river boat I’ve got say that I think this is IT! Its performance in shallow water has to bee seen to be believed and the casting room is second to none. I’ll have a Supreme forever as far as I’m concerned.
Tim, I’m a Slut for big fish…..
Here’s a few boat pics from a two day trip last week.

MemberI think you are probably right about the sculpin. I saw several in that run I was fishing just upstream from you guys before the lawn chair army moved in on me and I headed back up stream.
Later in the day when we moved down stream, Dan saw a bunch of sculpin just a little ways upstream from his place.
That was a good day man, glad I got to see you guys before I head out.
When I get back, probably in October, we’ll have to grill some ribeyes on the ditch. I’ll bring a bottle cabernet I have stashed.
