Anybody use these rods? I have heard that the “classic” version is a 2 piece is better than the new Loomis GLX versions. It is funny I have owned T&T, Sage and Winston but have never really cast the old GLX’s. I have a friend who swears that they are the best fast action rods out there and will take his 5 weight to the grave. My understanding is that they bend rather deeply but have some super fast recovery……….

The GLX is the first wave of the holy grail of fly rod design – extra fast recovery rate with very good flexibility.

So in your opinion are the GLX Classic rods still on par with the newest rods like the Z Axis? I do know that the GLX’s are plain looking but who cares if they cast well.
