Anyone know any good places to get a deal on a 30# boga grip?

    Carp season approaches.

Ebay is your only real hope of finding one discounted and it likely won’t be by very much.

    I don’t see Boga’s on sale…ever.

I just keep my 30 lber clipped to a Nalgene water bottle, even the smallest one will work.

Eastaboga keeps a tight rein on their dealers.  You will never find one on sale.  I think they are made in Alabama, so you might go direct to the manufacturer to try to get a promo deal.  Unless you can find one used, which is next to impossible, be ready to shell out the cash.

That being said, it is one of the few expensive toys that’s really worth it.

FWIW, Boga’s do damage to Carp’s soft mouths. I use them but the mouth of a carp just dosen’t work real well with bogas since there is no boney structure to attach to. Just be careful with them…

Dan Blanton et al are have been talking about that recently, Mike.

Better idea: nylon drawstring bag (say for laundry); boga the bag.

Yeah, I’ve used a laundry bag on gar before actually.

Yeah…it took me awhile to find that float.

I use the long leash to help revive the fish also. Works great for that, just hold on cause when they decide its time to leave a 20+ pound Striper can snatch the leash outa your hand before you realize what’s going on. Don’t ask me how I know…
