Spent a few hours this morning on the pond. Started out with the ol’ Eagle Claw Feather Light casting small poppers near the bank looking for bluegills. Instead I picked up a few small bass before switching over to the Heddon Pal seven weight and a chenile worm to look for bigger bass. Instead of bass coming to the worm I caught four or five pickerel. Later on in the morning I switched back to the light rod and a small popper only to again catch a more bass…and still no bluegills.

First warmwater fish on a popper this spring.

Just recieved this Martin 67A reel in the mail this week…and what a perfect match on the Heddon seven weight.

Poppers…yum…
