Run seems pretty good east of Atlanta in one of the 2 rivers I’ve tried. The other river has yet to produce a single white, but has been good for crappie and packed up with spawning carp. Last year I had a tough time getting whites and only saw a few. I heard lots of anglers last year saying the run was poor. Also, this is the lowest the rivers around here have been during these months for the last 4-5 years, which makes the fish pretty easy to find. I have not figured out these local white runs yet, but I know for sure there is variation among years as far as timing and angler success. Temp 2 weeks ago was 58 F.
However, while looking for whites/crappie I did manage my first, ever, carp on a fly when he sucked up a little clouser-like thing. Totally unexpected, on a 3 wt.
