I know this isn’t a report board, but I thought I’d share a little bit from my first trip to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

We fished Little River this weekend, checked out Byron Begley’s shop at Little River Outfitters and stayed at Dock’s Motel in Townsend. What a great place to spend a weekend. Lost the smoky mountain brown trout of a life time early sunday morning. Just as my size 4 girdle bug began to swing through the tail of the pool the beast emerged. he grabbed the fly and gave a quick headshake as he back drifted into the pool below. one jump and the hook was out. Needless to say i couldnt breathe for a good 30 seconds. Almost made up for it with the last fish pictured later that afternoon, but still planning a return trip to that fateful pool…

    Great pics!
I really need to get back to the Smokey’s. I was blessed by my lovely wife on our honeymoon, she surprised me with a guided trip there. That is a beatiful place and not a bad place to fish either. Thanks for sharing.

Jim, great pics. Only fished there once, and can’t wait to get back.

And it was the trip reports that originally drew me to this board, so keep ’em comin’!!
