Coming shortly on the heels of Zach’s recent podcast on making bamboo rods, I thought this was interesting. In Saturday’s edition of the Wall Street Journal (which I didn’t read until it thawed out of a snowdrift yesterday) there is a two page article on the split between bamboo rod maker Glenn Brackett and R.L. Winston. The WSJ isn’t exactly what you’d think of as a fly fishing rag. However, it’s a decent read for those not familiar with the story. Unfortunately, if you’re not a subscriber, you can’t read the article on their web site.
You can, however, hear the podcast they did on it, which is about 8 minutes long. Sitting at work, I can’t listen to it until tonight, but I thought I’d take a chance it’s decent and share now.

If you want to listen without subscribing, browse to http://online.wsj.com/public/page/audio.html? and click on Weekend Edition. If you’re reading this after 3/24 you probably need to go into the weekend edition archive to find it.
Enjoy,
Charlie
