Someone mentioned in another thread this weekend about lanyards…and I thought I’d post the one I made and see what else is out there. Lanyards are quite easy to make…and depending on the beads that you choose the whole project doesn’t have to be expensive.
The first ones I made five or six years ago were out of hemp rope which looked nice but broke down over time. Wouldn’t you know it that it broke while wading and I lost nearly all the beads and tools into the drink. This lanyard is on a braided nylon rope that seems to be much more durable.

PoudreRiver gave me a small Cliff’s Days Worth fly box that I am going to figure out how to attach to the lanyard as well. I’ve thought of running some heavy mono at the top of each side above the beads and then snap the box closed at the hinge to hold it there. I’ll post another photograph if that works.
