Looking for a G2 4 weight. Anybody have any knowledge of the diferences between the 3 models (8’4, 8’8″, 9′)? For instance, are the shorter models a bit quicker/stiffer. Also, how does this series compare to the BIIX’s from Winston?

Everyone who has the rod or have cast it will tell his reason to like or dislike it.

The way to go is to cast them your self at your local Scott dealer and try different lengths of the same line weight. Unless you have very specific reason to look for a certain length try to feel which one suits you best.

Let us know which one you picked and WHY.

While your trying Scott rods try the S3 4 weight 9 footer. I’ve used one for a couple of years and its really versatile. Its a pretty good replacement for a 5 weight which is what I used forever. Now I use a 4 and a 6 weight.
