I took Grumpy from Cumberland Transit out on our first ever Musky on the fly expedition. We saw a few really nice fish surface and only 3 or 4 hours into the trip Grumpy scored this guy on a med size streamer. It’s a baby compared to the fish I saw last year but nonetheless it’s a Musky on the fly. Grumpy was having some severe back pains so we ended the trip early. We ended up in a small town burger joint with an old timey atmosphere swapping fishing stories while we ate. All in all I had a memorable trip and I didn’t catch a thing

Mike A…is there a fish that doesn’t swim through your home waters?!?!

Hey Mike thanks for posting that. I have a friend here in MO that is obsessed with trying to catch a muskie on a fly rod. He’s caught a few on conventional tackle but not on a fly as of yet. He has had a couple of “follows” this year though. This will give him some hope.

Cameron I’ve said many times that we are blessed with an extremely diverse fishery here in Middle TN. I rarely ever drive over two hours for a fishing trip unless I’m going to the ocean. I also don’t get caught up targeting only one species of fish. I am always looking for something new where there aren’t many people. Fly Fishing has opened up a whole other fishery again for me. I’ve caught most all of these fish on gear and now I want one on the fly.
