    Hi All!

I just got back from an amazing trip on the Big Horn River. A typical fall weekend in Montana…snow, rain, wind, a little sunshine and some great fishing. There were eight of us total on the trip and we got to do all types of fly fishing. A little dry fly action, some nymphing, and a whole lot of chucking streamers! The browns were all over the streamers! Never in my life have I seen such aggressive fish. Three times over the weekend I had fish on that were so aggessive that they straightened the hooks on the streamers I was using. One of the fish one of my buddies caught had his hood straight in less than 4 seconds! That is no exaggeration either! The best part of that fish was he smacked the streamer right as my buddy was getting ready to make another cast. We got a great visual on this fish and he was a pig!!! He rolled once and then shot out of the water like a rocket and then he was gone! We all just looked at each other in disbelief with our mouths wide open.

I am going to attempt to attach some pictures for you all to enjoy. Let me know what you think!

    Hey Troutwag!

I guide for a big ranch just outside of Deer Lodge MT. called Rock Creek Cattle Company. It’s an 80,000 acre ranch that is building an eighteen hole golf course and a small developement. I take members of the ranch all over western Montana. My favorite river being the Blackfoot. We also have a small creek that runs through our property called Rock Creek that we just finished doing restoration to and is now starting to hold some really nice fish. I am the fishing guide and director of outdoor activities, so my job is very deverse. Some days I take people on hikes the next we might go fishing or shooting trap and sporting clays. Pretty darn fun job. Some days I can’t believe they pay me for it!

Actually Pancho I am going to be hiring some people next spring. I am going to be needing people to help me with the fly shop we will be opening up as well as some guides. I’m really going to be looking for well rounded people. The perfect person for the job will be someone who could work in the fly shop one day, take people fishing the next, maybe a hike the day after that or maybe even a little bird hunt. Right now I do it all because we are still in the building stages of the ranch. However, I see next summer being way more busy so I will be looking for that right person over the winter.

    Why? Are you interested?

Turner????? Are you kidding, that guy would get strung up in these parts! No the ranch is owned by a gentleman by the name of Bill Foley. Good guy. The type of guy who doesn’t ever cut corners.
