Just got back from the Big Horn river.  It was my first time fishing in Montana, and we had a blast.  We drifted two days, and were fortunate to catch a lot of browns and rainbows.  The first day was 40 degrees, rainy, and 40 MPH wind.  We still had fun, but it was great to get back to the cabin.  The second day we had great weather, and a very impressive black caddis hatch.  The Big Horn appears to be a very healthy and clear river, with a lot of trout.  It was a great getaway with some of the guys from work.  Spending the day astream, with some friendly cards at night, along with the stories of the one that broke off.  We will return…

A little red midge tied by Cameron produced my first Big Horn trout.

Zach and Moose, thanks for the comments.  I have been terrible in the past about not taking photos, and decided to make sure that I didn’t forget on this trip.

Glad to see a bit of confirmation of the flies I’ve tied actually in a trout’s mouth!
