Rod length question

    I could probably go test this myself, but is the rod length measured from the butt of the reel seat to the tip or is it the length of the blank. I’ve noticed in shops that not all 7 1/2, 8, 9 ft rods look equal when lined up.

    It’s the length of the blank, so various makers’ hardware will stack up differently.

    A lot depends on how the butt cap or fighting butt is attached to the handle.
