    That really blows. I hope it all works out for you. Was all your gear in your checked luggage? If so, I hope the lodge has some loaner gear for you.

    I´m alive in Belem, back from the `River of Death.´ Basically the Xingu was running about a billion cfs – imagine a lake a half mile across and 130 feet down and then add a 15 mph current.
