Got out for a few hours today.

I went out alone for a few hours to fish the high water at sunset. Floating along the gentle current with the sun setting and a thick blanket of fog that just seems to appear from nowhere. Casting blindly to fish that get bigger in my imagination with every cast and knowing, this could be the cast. It was a slow day that yielded one fat little brown and several curious strikes, but I left with a peace that you can’t buy in a store or watch on TV. I sure do feel sorry for those people who never had the time to let the river wash away their their thoughts and just go with the flow.
