Anybody with any experience with the “tip of the hat” clip on magnifying glasses? Will they work in addition to the bi-focals I’m already wearing? I would want to use them for tying on, more so than for tying flies. Although tying flies is a possibility also. Is there anything better? Any info is appreciated. Thanks, Guy
😉 At my age they are the best things that I use on the river. They work well with bifocals and I would be lost without them. I also bought a set that has a light on the top of the unit and it does come in handy early evenings. They do have a pair of glasses in the Orvis catalog that go to I think 5x, but that is to strong and you would have to remove them everytime you finished tying on a fly. Silver Doc
I would go with the clip-on-your glasses magnifiers rather than the hat type. They’re easier to use because of the focal length and work better with bifocals. You can use them and flip them up to fish or stick them in your pocket ;D
I tried some of the clip on the classes type. I liked them, but all they had in stock was the 1.5 magnifier. I think I still want something a little stronger, but I will get that type. Thanks, Guy
