Ok board members, I need some feed back on these two fly rods.

What particular line weight are you looking at? I’ve found the action of the XP tends to vary throughout the range. The 5 weight is Thor’s Hammer but I’m not particularly fond of the 6 weight. The higher line weights (7 and up) tend to get disproportionately faster than the lower line weights.

I’ve only fished with the GLX in an 8 weight, so I can’t offer much insight on that series.

I’ve used a 6 weight XP for chucking streamers and it’s the best rod out there.

In my opinion, I’d go for the XP.

Maybe it’s just me, but Sage seems to be more “fashionable” among fly fishing circles than G. Loomis.

I believe the CC to be the more sophisticated, and the superior, rod, however in all fairness most people would prefer the XP.

The CC is a sweet stick, engineered with very fast action graphite and a smooth, much more flexible taper.

    Decided on the XP.

On the plus side, you could always hock some extra Itinerant Angler t-shirts.

Check Ebay, under sexy shirts.  It’s funny, when I listed them that way I got 75% more for them.  Can I get some more?
