California’s Lake Dixon – the lake I wrote about as #25 on the Amazing 25 list in the January American Angler – has just produced a 25#+ largemouth bass.

Do you believe all the talk about it possibly being a hoax? That these guys knew that if it wasn’t intentionally foul-hooked then it still counts. And they threw it back because it was close to the record, then figured that they would take their chances on just saying that it was 25 lbs. I mean we’re talking about over $1 million dollars, if I foul-hooked that thing I would keep it and try to find a loop-hole in the rules or something. The people that live in that town could make a pretty good profit off this if their smart.
