    Hey guys-

I have been upland bird hunting now enough times to know I love it.

Hey Zach, haven’t checked in for a while, but i see you’ve been out shooting some birds!  Awesome!  There is nothing better than birds and good dogs!  If i may, i would suggest taking a look at a Binelli super black eagle for your graduation gift to yourself.  I shot one the last time we were in South Dakota and it was great.  It was my uncles, he said he has dropped in the marsh duck hunting, picked up, drained the water outta the barrel, and kept blasting.  Not to many guns you can do that with.

Zach, I’ve had my Remington 1187 since they first came out in 1986-87 and since then I’ve put countless thousands of rounds through it.

I’m not going to claim that I bird hunt a lot, but when I do, I shoot a Remington 1187 Premier or a Browning Gold Hunter.

IMO the Remington 1100 20 gauge is the cats meow of automatic shotguns. I have one that is 20 years old and still looks and shoots like new. I also have 2 Belgium Browning’s that are alot more valuable, but don’t shoot near as nice. I love a double barrel for rabbit, over and under for sporting clay. But for hunting birds my 1100 is the one I chose every time. I wish I could quit fishing long enough to use it more. TWRA is concentrating on bringing back the Quail pop and if goes as well as the Turkey restoration did then we will soon be in birds up to our knees. If that happens, then I too will be in the market for a good bird dog.

BD is right about that third shot. Kinda like how both barrels can be handy on a very fast rabbit sometimes. 😮

    Zach,

If you want a really nice gun, in my opinion you may take a look at an SKB.
