Sorry folks! This post was a Troll. Seems someone 8) is watching what I post here and trying to use it on another board I visit to stir things up??? I just wanted to make sure that what I thought was happening was, and it was.

I do take a very few fish on occasion as do a lot of people who fish. There seems to be a few people who think harvesting a fish from an overstocked put and take river is a sign of the antichrist. When in reality the river depends on people reducing the numbers of stocked fish to ensure the survival of the holdovers.
If we were talking about a river full of wild Trout then I could understand. However, this is a river where a big dump truck comes and dumps trout in it Kinda like a trout farm.

Anyway very sorry for the Troll.

You shouldn’t feel guilty about keeping fish to eat.

I thought it was like the bass down in Florida – the hatchery shiners just never work as well as the wild ones…

    Mike,

You should never feel guilty for keeping a few fish that you will nourish yourself with. I always feel a little remorse for killing, but thank God that I am able to. I really believe that we should all keep some once in awhile to remind ourselves that we are hunters and that other things have to die so that we can live. It is easy to forget that when all of your meat comes wrapped in plastic from a nice neat and clean display at the store and we are so far removed from the process of death.

Kill swiftly, offer no appologies and soak up the wonder of it all when you sit down to enjoy your meal.

    Steve
