This Rochester reel came from a turn of the 20th century manufactory in upstate New York (hence the name). This little gem is in near-perfect condition and I currently fish it in the Smokies. I had to lathe a new handle for it, but fortunately I had other period-consistent samples handy and mine is indistinguishable from the original. The only remaining problem is with the handle’s spindle, which I haven’t quite got on tight enough. No way to rivet, you see.
