Hey Guys,

I just rediscovered this board, and found the quantity and quality of information absolutely amazing and inspiring, and the warm friendly atmosphere seems so inviting.

I actually joined The Itinerant Angler forum back in 2006 when I bought my first SLR, a Nikon D200.  At that time I had vision of images I desired to capture, but my lack of fundamental skills and techniques made me feel somewhat intimidated by the board members, who knew what they were talking about.

Now that a few years have passed, thousands of images captured, and growing self confidence with respect to my photographic capabilities, I finally feel ready to participate here.  Fly fishing and tying are passions that burn deep and supply me with great self satisfaction, and I have to say that photography in general has enriched my life in so many ways.  In the past few years I have allowed my camera to lead the way, and I willing follow, shooting birds, wildflowers, landscapes, fish, bugs, basically anything I find interesting and/or beautiful.  I have arrived at the point where photography brings me as much joy as bringing a fish to hand, and I hope to be able to share my passion and knowledge as well as learn and be inspired by others.

I’m glad to be here.

Most recently I have been fly fishing the salt in Malibu for Leopard sharks.  I don't have any underwater shots, yet, the surf has been up, keeping the water too churned up with sand along shore.

Cheers,

Graham

Great to see you again Graham! Seems that it was way back during the FFF International Fly Tying Competition and the associated forum, that I last saw those amazing realistic fly tying patterns that you tie. Glad to see you still paddling up stream and look forward to seeing more of your amazing fly's. Smiley.

Glad to see you back around Graham.

You should post that fish pic you so innovatively caught in a camera trap too.  That's still pretty incredible to me.

Thank you Ben!  I do quite a bit of tying these days, and enjoy the creative aspects.

Thanks Zach, I'm glad to be here.  I just replied to the Underwater Photography thread, and posted the photo we talked about on the phone...

Good to see you in this neck of the woods Graham.  New rule: No posting pics of your camel spiders, those things give me the willies.

Thanks for the welcome Steve, Brett and Jay.  Brett, I have a feeling you'll be seeing the camel spider next week, but I won't elaborate for now...  I hope you guys like my IA Podcast when it becomes available online...

It is fly fishing that got me into photography and being able to combine two of my favorite activities gives me a lot to look forward too.  My problem so far this summer, is having too many rush orders at work, and I haven't had much opportunity lately to fish or photograph, except for pics of bugs I've been producing.  Today I received my favorite type of inquiry, renting scorpions that I made years ago and have in stock.  My customer was thrilled having the option to rent for half price, and I'm thrilled to retain inventory...  Anyway, I'm off to the Adirondacks next month, and hope to come home with some nice photos.

Hey Graham, I think I commented on one of these Leo shots on your flickr page. Your realistic flies are amazing, I'm going to have to check out Grown Ups and look for those moths.

Welcome back Graham.

I have spent time out there - not enough, but enough to know I'm going to spend more time there, as I'm able.

Amazing flies dood - really.

Hey Chad, thanks, I'm glad you like my stuff.  The bait soakers make hooking leo's look easy, at times.  I used a size 6 chartreuse clouser, got lucky on my first visit, and no sharks on the next four, but did have a breakoff.  The perch and corbina are biting now but I like to chase sharks, and 8 & 10 wt's dampen the thrill with the smaller fish.  We should go sometime!  I'll check out the Flickr site.  I recently had a computer prob, lost all of my bookmarked favorites, and I've been missing some of the sites I used to visit daily.

Thank you Kendal.  I'm glad to be back!  I'd like to chase some TX fish someday!  The bass lakes around here get too crowded at times.
