Has anyone had any luck with Sage Brush Dry Goods making a custom pack for you? I sent them specs a year or two ago and never heard back.

--Matt Tucker

I have a 3-4 year old 9' 4wt G2. That baby is my sweetheart rod. It is my go to rod for all dry fly fishing, replacing my 5wt for most. I use 7x often and like the way it protects the tippet. And I don't understand why, but I can cast it further or as far as my 5wt. In all but the windiest conditions or with larger bugs I go to that rod first.

I got the deal of the century on it and had the opportunity to purchase more but did not. Kick me in the butt over that one.

Fly Fishing - Costa Sunglasses

Speaking of sunglasses, I want to see if anyone else has experienced something.

With certain tints and brands of glasses, I've noticed a weird, stoplight-red glare on the top of the water, usually when I am viewing the water only at a certain, pretty flat angle, looking mostly toward the direction of the sun.

This was most noticeable wearing Oakleys down in Ascension Bay; not that Oakleys are bad glasses (they are excellent and lightweight and I use their yellow lenses on their minimal frames whenever I am fishing for trout in cold weather, because they rarely fog). But that stoplight-red glare was highly distracting in a flats environment.

Has anyone else ever seen this, and if so, with what brand and make of lens? I haven't seen it with Costas. I really don't understand where this is coming from and I'd like to know. It has to be something different in the manufacturing process.

Zach
